Why Accurate Temperature Measurement Matters in Zinc-Coated Steel Processing
Accurate temperature measurement is critical in the production of zinc-coated steel strips. AST offers reliable infrared pyrometer solutions that ensure optimal coating quality and process control throughout galvanizing lines.

In-Depth Look at Temperature Monitoring in Galvanizing Lines
In the Zn Coated Strip Measurment process, the vibrating sheet makes reflected light modulation, and this modulation causes temperature readout changes. In addition, it can be assumed that the sprinklers located after the zinc bath do not cool homogeneously, creating a temperature dispersion on the strip.
However, the low-temperature variations seem to be a result of reflections only.
When we measure very low temperatures, a reflected light signal may have almost the same level as the sheet emission signal; we must be cautious in such cases.
For example, sometimes, in aluminum extrusion and rolling, we have to perform the measurement inside a black box; by this, we shield all unwanted light sources, and the measurement is accurate.
